What Blueberry Does

We Tell Stories That Drive Change

We use new media and evidence-based research to strengthen gender equality, inclusive governance and economic justice, and to inspire informed, collective action. We work with journalists, researchers and creators to produce audio and digital stories that make complex issues accessible, inform and challenge audiences, and support people and movements working for change.

Research & Storytelling

We combine evidence‑based research with human‑centred storytelling to make complex conversations on gender equality, governance and economic justice accessible and engaging. Working with researchers and community partners, we translate data, reports and lived experience into narrative podcasts and digital formats that deepen public understanding and support more informed, collective action.

Co-Productions

We collaborate with African think tanks, civil society organisations, and media partners to create high-quality, multi-episode series with regional relevance and reach.

Training & Capacity Building

We equip journalists, researchers and creative professionals with the skills to produce rigorous, ethical and impactful stories on complex and sensitive issues. Our trainings cover narrative podcast production, gender‑responsive storytelling, working with data and research, and designing content that supports advocacy and public engagement. By building capacity in the wider media and civic ecosystem, we help ensure that more stories about gender, governance and economic justice are told—and told well.

Blueberry Creators Fund

We support independent journalists, storytellers and media creators working on gender equality, inclusive governance and economic justice. Through mentorship, editorial support and, where possible, project funding, the Creators Fund helps emerging and established creators develop rigorous, impact‑driven audio and digital stories. Our goal is to expand who gets to tell public‑interest stories in East Africa and to strengthen a diverse ecosystem of voices shaping public debate and driving change.
